Dusty Raises $1.1M Investment
Icelandic esports organization Dusty has announced the closing of a $1.1 million funding round. The investment will reportedly be used to strengthen Dusty's esports rosters, develop the social media platform, and focus on player development in Iceland.
The organization also added that this is the first investment in Icelandic esports. However, details about the investors were not disclosed.
Founded in 2019, Dusty is present in such disciplines as League of Legends, CS:GO and FIFA. At the same time, the club's League of Legends team currently participates in the NLC, Nordic, UK and Ireland European regional leagues.
Asbjørn Daniel, Dusty CEO: "We're thrilled to see in action that other people believe in what we're doing and we can't wait to start working closely with the parties involved."
Last year, Dusty teamed up with North American esports organization Cloud9 to become the exclusive partner of the 2021 League of Legends World Championship. Dusty provided Cloud9 with equipment, logistics and promotional activities for the event, which was held in Reykjavik.
Some of Dusty's current commercial partners include bookmaker Coolbet, pizza chain Domino's and sportswear manufacturer Macron.
