FaZe Clan appoints Zach Katz as president and chief operating officer
North American gaming and esports company FaZe Clan has announced the appointment of Zach Katz to the positions of President and Chief Operating Officer of the club. Katz joins the company after working for music publisher BMG and investment group Raised In Space.
Katz will reportedly oversee FaZe Clan's content creation, talent, consumer products, sponsorships and esports business. In addition, he will work with the company's leadership team to help expand his brand worldwide.
The appointment is the first since the organization unveiled its public board of directors in March. The board of directors included FaZe Clan co-founder and CEO Lee Trink, rapper Snoop Dogg, Stephanie McMahon and others.
Lee Trink, CEO of FaZe Clan: "FaZe Clan is at the intersection of games and culture, and we believe that all of this is leading to the growth of Web3. We are fully focused on building the future, and by adding Zach to our team, we acquire a proven leader, who has extensive experience working with innovative, cultural brands and through my long relationship with Zach, I believe he will help catapult our company into the next phase of growth and bring operational excellence to FaZe Clan when we go public."
As president and chief operating officer, Katz will work closely with the senior management team to develop the brand, prioritizing global expansion and developing innovative new revenue-generating verticals. In his operational role, Katz will focus on building internal systems that maximize efficiency and help create an enterprise environment that meets the needs and goals of a growing brand.
Recall that in October last year, FaZe Clan announced its plans to merge with B. Riley Principal 150 Merger Corp. However, this process is currently under threat as the organization's financial statements do not align with forward plans.
