GRID Esports partners with Riot Games
GRID Esports has announced that it has signed a two-year partnership with Riot Games to provide data for the VALORANT discipline. As part of the deal, the platform will receive exclusive access to data from all major tournaments of the discipline.
Moritz Maurer, CEO of GRID Esports: "VALORANT is a disruptor to the esports scene. One of the youngest competitive disciplines has already amassed an incredible following, dedicated professional players and has managed to create a thriving, diverse esports scene. This would not have been possible without the professionalism and direct Publisher participation - Riot Games. By joining forces with Riot, we are committed to building the platform as a solid foundation for the sustainable growth of the exceptional VALORANT ecosystem."
The GRID Esports platform will reportedly acquire the right to distribute esports data for VALORANT. The information includes a number of in-game statistics for individual players and teams, as well as data on matches played. The resulting data will appear on the platform in the coming months.
John Knauss, co-lead of Riot Games: "Our audience is the most engaged in the entire global esports ecosystem, and we want to continue to foster that engagement with the ever-evolving ways we interact with our sports. We're excited about VALORANT's future, growth, and opportunities to deepen the fandom by providing new products and experiences.
Recall that at the beginning of the year, GRID Esports expanded partnership agreements with the organizers of BLAST Premier and WePlay Esports eSports tournaments.
