Valve allowed teams to make substitutes in The Bostin Major. Today, one of the teams decided to use this advantage. Previously, Valve introduced changes to the rules of the major tour. According to the changes, each of 16 team participants can substitute a player with the one who does not participate in the main stage of The Boston Major. Today, the details of this rule have been published:

A player who does not participate in the final stage of The Boston Major tournament can join the roster of any team after receiving the invitation. Still, this player officially belongs to the roster of his permanent team.

Teams participating in The Boston Major

Teams participants of the final stage can invite any player who does not participate in the main stage of the event to become a substitute for this team in The Boston Major.

Each team can have only one substitute. The roster registered for participation in The Boston Major will not be changed if the substitute is invited.

Substitutions in the main roster

A team can replace a player from the main roster with a substitute. The replacement is impossible without a player’s agreement.

In this way, any of the teams can replace a player before the main stage of The Boston Major. Execration has already used this right. Adam Erwann Shah “343” bin Akhtar Hussein joins the roster to replace Rapppy.

Thus, Execration roster for The Boston Major is as following:

  • Kim “Gabbi” Villafuerte (safe lane)
  • Abed “Abed” Yusop (central lane)
  • Djardel “DJ” Mampusti (hard line)
  • Adam Erwann Shah “343” bin Akhtar Hussein (support, announced additionally)
  • Kimuel “Kim0” Rodis (hard support)
  • Rafael “Rapppy” Sicat Palo (moved to substitute)

343 became famous in April replacing Mushi in Fnatic roster. Later, he moved to the support position, and after the end of The International 2016, where the team took 4th place, he left the roster.

The first substitute is made. It is hard to predict what team will undertake such experiment in the run-up to the main event of this winter and add a substitute player to the roster. However, we should not exclude this possibility
