In an official statement, ITB representatives revealed that an individual tasked with managing the club’s finances had misappropriated funds for personal use. This financial misconduct left Into The Breach unable to sustain operations, forcing the organization to shut down.

CS2 player Owen "Smooya" Butterfield did not hold back in his criticism of Macedonio, accusing the CEO of embezzling money behind the scenes. According to Smooya, Macedonio’s actions deprived players and staff of over $500,000 in owed payments.

Shortly after these allegations surfaced, Macedonio admitted to his misconduct. In a heartfelt social media post, he disclosed that his actions were fueled by struggles with alcohol addiction and a self-destructive mindset, which led him to make decisions that severely harmed the organization.

Despite the scandal, Macedonio highlighted Into The Breach’s accomplishments during its time in the esports scene, noting that the club had achieved notable results before its closure. He expressed his willingness to face legal consequences for his actions and assured those affected that they would receive as much compensation as possible from the remaining organizational funds.

This marks the end of Into The Breach’s chapter in esports, leaving a cautionary tale about the importance of transparency and accountability in the competitive gaming industry.
