Beyond The Summit will not have a DPC league next season
Beyond The Summit co-creator David 'LD' Gorman, also known for his commentary work, revealed on social media that the company did not receive the rights to organize a league in the next ranked DPC season from Valve.
Comment by David 'LD' Gorman:
A terrible and sad day for me personally, as well as for most of the BTS team. We won't be doing DPC production next year, and to be honest, it's not clear if we'll be doing Dota 2 content in the future. Amazing game and community that gave me everything.
This year, Beyond The Summit organized DPC leagues in Eastern Europe and South Eastern Europe. The operator also held a number of BTS Pro Series tournaments. Beyond The Summit has been organizing Dota 2 events since April 30, 2012. The studio's first championship was the Gigabyte Dota 2 Masters with a $5,000 prize pool.
The biggest events organized by the studio from Los Angeles were the Summit series tournaments, namely The Summit 2, DOTA Summit 8 and DOTA Summit 11, where the prize money equaled or exceeded $300,000. Thus, one of the important organizers leaves the Dota 2 scene. It is not yet known who could take his place.
