The issue centers around the mid-boss, an NPC enemy that drops the powerful Rejuvenator buff once defeated. This buff is crucial in endgame scenarios, as both teams aim to secure it, especially when the match reaches a stalemate.

Unlike League of Legends Baron Nashor, where the buff is granted immediately upon defeat, the Rejuvenator takes several seconds to descend to the ground, giving the opposing team a chance to steal it. However, this mechanic is being exploited through the misuse of Deadlock’s in-match pause feature. As seen in a clip shared on Reddit, the Rejuvenator continues its descent even when the match is paused, making it impossible for the other team to contest it.

The discovery has sparked outrage within the community. Responses to the Reddit post urged the author to report the issue through official channels to notify Valve. "Please report this on the forums ASAP instead of Reddit so I won’t face abusers in my games," one user commented, while others pointed out that this is yet another example of how the pause feature needs improvement.

The exploit is the latest in a series of issues involving Deadlock's pause mechanic, which has been abused by players since the game's existence was acknowledged by Valve. With thousands of players online at any given time, toxic behavior has unfortunately become common.

However, since Deadlock is still in Closed Alpha, there’s a good chance these issues will be addressed before the game’s official release. Players are hopeful that Valve will fix this and other problems as development progresses.
