ZachXBT: Axis Robotics Insiders Dumped 76M AXIS

Eight days. That is how long AXIS had been trading before the first big exit allegedly hit the chart.

On-chain investigator ZachXBT says insiders at Axis Robotics pulled more than 76 million AXIS, worth over $12 million, out of a team-linked multisig wallet and sold into decentralized exchanges. Some of the tokens also went to Bitget. AXIS lost about 40% of its value in 24 hours.

One of the sellers, per ZachXBT, unloaded 42 million AXIS on a Base DEX and now holds more than $5.04 million in USDC across eight wallets. By my math that is an average of around 12 cents a token, about a third of the roughly $0.361 peak. The price has since settled near $0.14.

Reports differ on how deep the drop went. One Telegram post put it at 43%. Most outlets, PANews and TechFlow included, rounded to 40%. Crypto Times logged about 36% over a 24-hour window. Different time windows and price feeds likely explain the spread.

A Launch With A Thin Float

Axis Robotics builds a data engine for robot training. Contributors drive simulated robot arms from a browser, and approved trajectories get recorded on-chain on Base. The team announced a $12 million seed round led by Hack VC in July. In September it ran a community sale at $0.10 a token, a $100 million FDV, with 10% unlocked at launch, a six-month cliff and linear vesting after that.

Binance Alpha was the first platform to feature AXIS on October 21. Bitget and KuCoin were live within a day.

Only about 165 million of the 1 billion supply circulated at launch. With a float that thin, one $12 million dump is enough to move the chart. A BaseScan snapshot cited by Crypto Times shows the top ten wallets holding roughly 98.8% of supply, though most of that is simply the vesting contract. I would not read much into it.

Axis Says It Was An OTC Desk

The project responded within hours. Its statement says no team or investor tokens were sold. The tokens that hit the market came from the Ecosystem allocation inside the initial circulating supply, and they were handed to a single OTC counterparty under a written agreement with lock-up clauses. According to Axis, that buyer pushed them through exchange deposit routes and hundreds of fresh addresses within hours of delivery.

Axis says it has cut ties with the counterparty and will look at legal options. The other 835 million AXIS, 83.5% of supply, sit in a vesting contract co-managed with Binance. Axis says nothing has left it and nothing unlocks for 12 months. That part is verifiable on-chain, which counts in the project's favor.

The two accounts are closer than the headlines make them look. ZachXBT is describing where the tokens came from, a team-linked multisig. Axis is describing where they went, an outside buyer. Both can be true. A project multisig sending ecosystem tokens to an OTC desk is still the project's multisig sending tokens. What nobody has shown is whether the eight USDC wallets trace back to that desk or to someone closer to the team. That is the whole fight.

One more wrinkle. Phemex's explainer on the token notes that the four-of-six multisig controlling the vesting contract can, by design, withdraw the full balance. So "locked" here means four signers agreeing not to touch it.

ZachXBT Has Been Here Before

This is not his first token call this year. In April he accused MemeCore insiders of pushing M to a $6 billion market cap. CoinDesk reported M dropping about 80% in June with no clear trigger. LAB fell more than 30% in a day after his claim that insiders controlled over 95% of its supply.

A track record is not proof, and the AXIS allegations are still unverified. They come from ZachXBT, the OTC explanation comes from Axis, and the chain holds the receipts for both. Until someone ties those eight wallets to a name, holders are left choosing between two stories.
