Gizmy Returns to Monte Gen as Team Prepares for IEM Dallas!
Monte has announced the return of Jack "Gizmy" von Spreckelsen to Monte Gen following the main team's early exit from the ESL Pro League playoffs. He will rejoin Gytis "ryu" Glušauskas, who was recently reassigned to the academy squad.
Gizmy was initially promoted to the main team along with ryu in March, replacing Viktor "sdy" Orudzhev and Alexander "br0" Bro. During his stint, Gizmy achieved a commendable 1.04 rating, though the team’s overall performance was mixed.
The revamped team made a promising playoff appearance in ESL Pro League Season 19 but finished last at GET Rio and faced challenges in online competitions. Reflecting on his reassignment, Gizmy stated on X, "Things could have gone differently that might have changed this outcome. But in the end, it’s a fair decision."
Monte now faces a tight deadline of less than two weeks to complete their roster before heading to the United States for IEM Dallas, which features a $250,000 prize pool.
Following Gizmy's departure, Monte's current roster includes:
- Volodymyr "Woro2k" Veletniuk (Ukraine)
- Sergiy "DemQQ" Demchenko (Ukraine)
- Szymon "kRaSnaL" Mrozek (Poland)
Coach: Sergey "lmbt" Bezhanov (Ukraine)
