NiKo shared his thoughts on the state of the competitive map pool

NiKo, who is the leader of the G2 Esports team, shared his thoughts on the state of the competitive map pool. In an interview for the BLIX.GG portal, the Bosnian complained about the terrible set of cards, and also reflected on what changes the developers should make to improve the situation.

I would remove Vertigo and return Dust2. I like these changes. The tournament mappool has never been as bad as it is now. Dust2 was a very strong card for us, although HooXi didn't use it with Copenhagen Flames. At the same time, he managed to play well on it. Removing Dust2 sucks.

As for Anubis, it's a normal map, but only after a few necessary changes. I can't say the same about Vertigo, which I think is very bad. The developers have been trying to do something with it for so long, but playing Vertigo all the time was unpleasant. I think it's hard for viewers to watch matches on this map.

During the conversation, NiKo also highlighted a number of points on the Anubis map that developers should pay attention to in order to improve the balance.

I mean, I would say that they should change something for protection. When you're not on the defensive side, you need to be able to fight for some areas. At the moment you are not in a position to fight for anything. We have seen that this is an offensive card. Now the map is even easier to attack, but I think they need to change something for the defensive side so they can fight more for certain parts of the map.

Currently, the European team is taking part in BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2023. According to the results of the first round, Swani's wards won a confident victory over BIG with a score of 2:0. In the next round of the competition, G2 Esports will face NAVI.

Current G2 Esports CS:GO roster:
