FalleN: "Let it be 2023, probably my last year as a professional CS:GO player"

FalleN, who is the captain and sniper of the Imperial Esports team, once again touched on the topic of his future. Recall that back in November, the 31-year-old Brazilian said in an interview that he plans to perform on the professional stage for at least one year. Now, the Brazilian stage legend has taken to Twitter to reiterate his intention to hang up the keyboard after 2023.

Ggwp 2022, an intense year of reconnection, overcoming and learning. Thanks to everyone who was with me. Let it be 2023, probably my last year as a professional CS:GO player. I have enough plans for this year, but it will be a transitional year. See you soon.

FalleN is a true legend in the Brazilian competitive scene. Back in the days of playing for Luminosity Gaming and SK Gaming clubs, the sniper became the champion of MLG Major Championship: Columbus 2016 and ESL One: Cologne 2016, and also took many other trophies.

The 31-year-old player spent the last season with Imperial Esports, in which he tried to revive the legendary SK Gaming roster. However, last season he did not manage to achieve great success, limiting himself to winning the OMEN WGR European Challenge 2022, as well as getting into the top three at the end of FiReLEAGUE Latin Power Spring 2022, PGL Major Antwerp 2022: American RMR, ESL Challenger at DreamHack Melbourne 2022 and FiReLEAGUE 2022: Global Finals.

However, the team played twice in the PGL Major Antwerp 2022 and Intel Extreme Masters Rio Major 2022, even though they failed to make it to the playoffs of both tournaments.

At the same time, there are active talks about the end of another member of Imperial Esports — fer. Another legend of the Brazilian scene is about to retire, while the organization is busy signing JOTA from MIBR. However, these are not the only changes in the team's roster, as fnx is about to step down as head coach.

All in all, Imperial Esports is in for an interesting off-season, but FalleN managed to assure fans that he will remain on the scene in 2023.
