The creator of Cache adapts the map for Source 2
The FMPONE level designer and part-time author of the Cache map for CS:GO told on Twitter that he is developing a new battlefield for Source 2. From this we can conclude that Valve wants to transfer their shooter to a new engine.
He gave small comments on the screenshots that he attached in the post. FMPONE spoke about the differences in how they work on the brushes.
Brushes - an element when creating maps for CS:GO (and CS 1.6), which is responsible for the models and boundaries of certain objects
FMPONE also said that now models can be strictly snapped to the grid.125, which greatly simplifies the work of mapmakers when working on small scenes.
Rumors about the transition of CS:GO to a new engine have been circulating on the Internet for quite a long time. The facts argued by various figures in the gaming industry confirm the likelihood of such an event.
Valve has so far refrained from any comments and does not contribute in any way to porting the game to Source 2. At the same time, we know how the developers of an esports discipline can behave. This means that Valve can silently work on porting CS:GO to Source 2 and make a corresponding announcement closer to the release date of the game on this engine.
