Perfect World and BLAST are top candidates for majors in 2023

According to Jaxon, tournament operators Perfect World and BLAST are top candidates for majors next year. Both companies have already applied for the championships, waiting for the final decision from Valve.

In recent years, the BLAST organizer has received many accolades for the quality of its products. However, hosting a major will require the organizer to adapt to a wider range of teams. So far, only eight teams have competed in LAN tournaments from BLAST. During the Major, this number will increase to 24.

In turn, Perfect World is mostly known as the Chinese version of CS:GO. Given regional restrictions and heavy censorship, it is unlikely that Valve will agree to move the major to Asia, facing all sorts of restrictions in organizing its largest event.

If Perfect World is chosen to host a major in 2023, the tournament operator will host the first major in Asia that has so far been held in Europe or North America (the championship will take place in South America in the fall).

Recall that a little earlier, a SPUNJ analyst in the HLTV Confirmed podcast announced the intentions of the BLAST tournament operator to hold a CS:GO Major in 2023. In addition, the Australian added that the Chinese tournament operator Perfect World is also exploring this possibility.

If BLAST succeeds in hosting a major, then our idea of what majors are for tournament operators will be turned upside down. It is believed that the world championships are too expensive and do not bring profit.

Interestingly, in a recent interview, Charlotte Kenny, managing director of the tournament operator, spoke about her company's desire to get the right to organize a major. At the same time, the head did not specify whether the corresponding application was filed with Valve.
