Xyp9x: "This is not my last contract"
Xyp9x, who had signed a new contract withAstralis until 2025 the day before, gave a short interview to TV 2 SPORT, in which he shared his plans for the future. In particular, the 26-year-old Dane assured that this contract will not be the last in his professional career.
The interview with a local TV channel is timed to extend the contract with Astralis for four years. During the conversation, Xyp9x did not hide his emotions, clearly being satisfied that the parties managed to come to an agreement and signed a new agreement.
I am a little touched because Astralis is where my heart belongs and where I see my future. And it touches me damn well. This is an important decision, and I'm just very happy that we have reached a consensus.
The 26-year-old has been playing for Astralis since the formation of the original roster in 2016. Together with the Xyp9x team, he won many trophies, including ELEAGUE Major: Atlanta 2017, FACEIT Major: London 2018, Intel Extreme Masters XIII - Katowice Major 2019 and StarLadder Berlin Major 2019.
This caused a lot of thoughts and feelings. It was also a great motivation to get a permanent base and prove to Astralis and the world that I am where I need to be and that there is a place for me on the team. That is why I am really happy with today's events.
During the interview, Xyp9x announced that he does not intend to end his professional career after the expiration of his contract with Astralis.
Today is a really big day. Four years is a long time, and I'm really happy that Astralis and I found each other. No, this is not my last contract. In 4 years I will be 30 and we will see where I will be in the future. But I have enough motivation and energy to win.
Note that very soon Astralis will take part in PGL Major Stockholm 2021, in which the team will begin its journey from the Challengers stage, having met in the first match with Copenhagen Flames.
