Latest Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Update Unveils New Weapon Camos and Major Balancing Tweaks!
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone have rolled out a new update that introduces significant enhancements, including the expansion of weapon prestige camos and a series of weapon-balancing adjustments. This update is likely to be one of the last before Season 4 launches in late May.
In the previous weekly update, various improvements were made to MW3's Zombies mode along with fixes for bugs affecting items, maps, and modes in the game's standard multiplayer. Additionally, an issue in Warzone that affected the automatic tactical sprint feature was resolved. This was followed by another update aimed at balancing the JAK Wardens conversion kit, which is reminiscent of the Model 1887 akimbo shotguns from Modern Warfare 2 (2009).
The latest changes affect both Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone. They include the ability to unlock weapon prestige camos for MW2 weapons, adjustments to the JAK Wardens to prevent the use of incompatible attachments, and the correction of the COR-45 handgun’s firing rate. Various optic attachments now also show accurate statistics in the Gunsmith menu. While these updates apply to both games, MW3 received additional adjustments, such as a nerf to the DG-58 LSW and a modification to the Enhanced Vision Goggles field upgrade, which no longer automatically unequips after the battery runs out. Instead, it now blurs the user's vision, allowing players to remove the goggles manually.
Additional MW3 updates include a fix for the Derail map that prevents players from accessing a restricted area and adjustments to akimbo weapons, ensuring they receive the correct amount of reserve ammo. EOD Padding in Arcade mode no longer reduces explosive damage from power weapons, blank perk icons are fixed in Infected mode, and weapon stats are now displayed correctly in the after-action report for One in the Chamber matches.
The High-Gain Antenna perk, introduced in Season 3, received a minor bug fix that ensures enemy equipment detected by teammates with a Signal Jammer is displayed correctly on the user’s compass. Furthermore, the UI in MW3 has been enhanced, allowing players to preview equipment skins in the Store and ensuring that tracked challenges reflect accurate progress towards weapon prestige camos.
As for the future of the series, it appears that Call of Duty 2024 might be revealed in the coming month, potentially through an in-game event or during the Xbox showcase on June 9.
