OpTic Gaming took over Envy Gaming

Recently, OpTic Gaming hosted a podcast in which Hector 'Hecz' Rodriguez, CEO of the esports club, announced the complete takeover of Envy Gaming by OpTic. Now there is no such tag as Envy anymore. The collaboration between Envy Gaming and OpTic Gaming began last November with the formation of the Call of Duty OpTic Texas team. The history of the appearance of the Envy tag originates in Dallas in 2007, when the players assembled a Call of Duty roster, and therefore the end of the organization’s existence at the time of its activities in the Call of Duty field became more significant.

Envy Gaming had rosters in such esports disciplines as CS:GO, Call of Duty, Valorant, Rocket League, League of Legends, Halo and even Gears of War. Thanks to this, the club was able to establish itself in the world as one of the best. Envy Gaming Director Mike 'Hastro' Rufail said it was time to “put Envy on hold” and put all of our resources into OpTic Gaming's development. All teams except Overwatch, where the team plays under the Dallas Fuel tag, will be renamed OpTic Gaming. Rufeil explained the decision to leave the Dallas Fuel tag with the rooted good attitude of the community towards the Dallas Fuel brand.

Rufail has not ruled out the possibility of the Envy Gaming tag appearing in the professional scene in the future, but for now, he believes that in order to avoid confusion for potential investors and sponsors and high survivability, he should focus all his efforts on OpTic Gaming.

Due to the new circumstances, OpTic Gaming fans playing Rocket League will be able to rejoice. New skins with the emblem of this organization may potentially appear in the game.

Many people are concerned about the future of OpTic Gaming in another shooter discipline, CS:GO. Envy and OpTic have a history of working with players in this division. In 2015, Envy Gaming acquired a CS:GO roster, and the division was disbanded in 2021. There was a similar story at OpTic, only this club decided to stop maintaining the CS:GO roster in 2019.

Mike Rufail hinted at a possible return to CS:GO:

Taking the OpTic brand into new territory is what we're looking at.[Perhaps we will start to action new disciplines], for example, in CS:GO. We[with Hector 'Hecz' Rodriguez]miss it.
