OPPO sponsors MPL and Wild Rift in the Philippines

Mobile brand OPPO is sponsoring the Philippine leg of the League of Legends: Wild Rift SEA Icon 2021 series alongside the Regional Professional League Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL).

According to a press release, OPPO's sponsorship of two esports championships is part of the brand's initiative to strengthen its market foothold in the esports and gaming space.

This partnership was made possible in part by OPPO's collaboration with esports organization Mineski. The recently signed agreement will see the two companies seek to intensify competition in the Philippines, with their first joint sponsorship of the Wild Rift SEA Icon Series Regional and MPL Tournament.

This is not the first time OPPO has entered esports with the brand sponsoring Filipino esports organization Liyab Esports, as well as being the official sponsor of the National Interschool Cyber League, which is part of Mineski's youth esports program.
