Happy led the M80 Esports roster
Canadian esports organization M80 Esports has announced the appointment of Happy as the head coach of their VALORANT roster. The legendary Frenchman will try himself as a coach for the first time in his career and will be able to evaluate his talents as part of the upcoming VALORANT Challengers 2023: North America Split 1.
It's been a while since I've been active on Twitter, but today is a big day, and I'm announcing the next step in my career: I've moved into the position of head coach.
My new home? M80, a team full of talented players with one goal in mind: to earn a place in the international league by winning the Ascension tournament. We have a lot of work and tough battles ahead of us, but I believe that in this group of players we have all the ingredients to make our team successful.
When did I make my decision? It happened when I was working as an analyst in the French league, watching all these games (and international tournaments too) and seeing how much experience and advice I could give to so many players, I realized that my value is no longer as a player on the server, but as a person who works behind a team.
It came naturally, and within a short period of time, I solved the problem: I want to help the team achieve greatness. I know it's going to be a long road to becoming one of the best coaches in the world, but it's become all I want to do and all I can think of.
Happy made a name for himself in the CS:GO discipline, where he won DreamHack Winter 2014, Gfinity Champion of Champions, DreamHack Open Cluj-Napoca 2015, Global eSports Cup - Season 1, World Electronic Sports Games 2016 and DreamHack Open Atlanta 2017. During his career, the Frenchman managed to try his hand at Team LDLC, Team Envy and Team Vitality, having scored a legendary highlight in the Desert Eagle on the Inferno map.
However, in the spring of 2020, Happy moved to VALORANT. The 31-year-old Frenchman was unable to find his team for a while, until he joined Giants Gaming early last year.
However, he failed to gain a foothold here, as a result of which he moved to Excel Esports. The last professional team for the Frenchman was Team BDS, with which he took third place in the VALORANT Open Tour: France Finals. Since February, however, Happy has remained in the shadows of the competitive scene, focusing mostly on streaming.
The debut of the 31-year-old Frenchman will take place as part of VALORANT Challengers 2023: North America Split 1, where the team received a direct invitation from the organizers.
