Summer Game Fest has wrapped up for another year, and Geoff Keighley’s annual summer showcase once again delivered a packed two-hour presentation filled with new game reveals, trailers, release dates, and major updates.
The show opened with one of the biggest surprises of the night — Capcom’s long-awaited reveal of Resident Evil: Code Veronica — and closed with Square Enix officially announcing Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the final chapter of the remake trilogy.
Other highlights included Tifa joining Street Fighter 6, the reveal of Stellar Blade: Blood Rain, the long-awaited announcement of Guild Wars 3, and a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin game from PlatinumGames.
And no, there was no surprise GTA 6 trailer. Of course there wasn’t. Half-Life 3 was not there either.

Here is everything announced during Summer Game Fest 2026.
Resident Evil: Code Veronica
Capcom opened Summer Game Fest 2026 with the announcement of a remake of the cult horror classic Resident Evil: Code Veronica.
The game takes place several months after the destruction of Raccoon City. Claire is captured and sent to a prison facility on Rockfort Island, where another deadly virus outbreak soon begins.
Resident Evil: Code Veronica is scheduled to release in 2027 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Mighty Cuphead Adventure and a New Cuphead Sequel
Studio MDHR announced two new projects set in the Cuphead universe.
The first reveal was Mighty Cuphead Adventure, an 8-bit retro platformer with arcade shooter elements and pixel-art visuals.
The second announcement confirmed that a full Cuphead sequel is officially in development. The game will retain the series’ signature hand-drawn animation style and follow Cuphead and his friends on a new adventure. However, because the project is still early in production, the studio did not show gameplay or full visual materials.
Both games are in development for PC and consoles. Release dates have not been announced.
Alien: Isolation 2
SEGA, 20th Century Games, and Creative Assembly revealed the first cinematic trailer for Alien: Isolation 2.

Players take on the role of an unnamed messenger who travels three thousand li east with his young son to deliver a crucial message to the capital city of Chang’an.
More details are expected through media previews. Blood Message is in development for PC and consoles, with no release date announced yet.
Stranger Than Heaven
Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio presented a cinematic trailer for Stranger Than Heaven, a new crime drama spanning half a century.

The protagonist is Makoto Daito, a Japanese-American who rises from a stowaway refugee to a legend of the criminal underworld.
Gameplay will feature an unusual combat system where the left and right sides of the character’s body are controlled separately. This allows players to manually combine blocks, jabs, grabs, and melee weapon attacks.
Another major gameplay system focuses on music production. Makoto can discover street talent and record tracks using samples taken from environmental sounds.
One of the biggest surprises was the appearance of rapper Tupac Shakur. His likeness was officially licensed with support from his family and Snoop Dogg, who also plays one of the game’s main roles.
Stranger Than Heaven launches on January 15, 2027, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. It will also be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch.

Built on Unreal Engine 5, Crossfire is a story-driven single-player game centered on the forced alliance between two rival operatives, Layla and Cross, who must survive amid a global conflict.
The game’s key feature is the Adaptive Cover system. Characters automatically adjust their stance, body position, and movement based on uneven terrain and enemy sightlines. Mafia: The Old Country — Man of Honor
2K Games and Hangar 13 revealed the announcement trailer for Man of Honor, a story expansion for Mafia: The Old Country.
The DLC takes place in Sicily during the winter of 1905 and fits into the one-year time jump in the main story, shortly after protagonist Enzo Favara becomes a full “soldier” in the Torrisi family.
Man of Honor adds two new story chapters in which Enzo meets a young, bold, and ambitious Ennio Salieri, the future don from the first Mafia game. At this point in the story, Salieri is preparing to move to America.
Salieri’s arrival creates tension between Enzo and his close friend Cesare Massaro. The developers rebuilt the character’s younger appearance based on actor Glenn Taranto, while Andrew Russell provides the voice and motion capture for the younger Salieri.
The expansion also adds new locations, weapons, vehicles, and a major update to Free Ride mode. Players will be able to take assassination and robbery contracts from Salieri at the Galante depot and explore hidden areas in the Valle Dorata valley.
Man of Honor launches on August 14, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
SAW: Genesis
Bloober Team, together with its subsidiaries Broken Mirror Games and Anshar Studios, announced SAW: Genesis, an asymmetric multiplayer horror game based on the Saw franchise.

The Judge controls traps from the shadows, uses hidden corridors and hallucinogenic gas, and can summon an Accomplice to capture victims. However, he is physically vulnerable and cannot win direct fights.
The other three players take on the role of the Accused. They must cooperate, collect keys, and find an escape route before time runs out.
A unique feature is the “rehabilitation trap” system. When caught in a trap, players must choose between sacrificing a body part, which permanently slows them down or makes puzzles harder, or waiting for teammates to rescue them.
SAW: Genesis will first launch in early access on PC via Steam. No exact release date has been announced.

The project combines strategy and third-person action. Before battles, players configure formations and tactical behavior for their troops. During combat, they can personally fight on the battlefield.

The story continues the universe after the remnants of humanity left Earth and fled to the space Colony.

With E3 now permanently retired, Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest has fully taken over as the centerpiece of the summer gaming calendar. As expected, the 2026 edition is preparing another massive showcase packed with world premieres, major announcements, and updates on some of the industry’s most anticipated games.
The annual event continues growing into one of the biggest moments of the year for gamers, publishers, and developers alike.
Summer Game Fest 2026 Date and Start Time
The main Summer Game Fest 2026 showcase will air live on:
Friday, June 5, 2026
- 2 PM PT
- 5 PM ET
- 10 PM BST
- 11 PM CEST
The show will once again be hosted by Geoff Keighley alongside Lucy James.
Where to Watch Summer Game Fest 2026
The event will be streamed live across multiple platforms, including:
- The official The Game Awards YouTube channel
- The official Summer Game Fest Twitch channel
Additional co-streams and community watch parties are also expected across major creator platforms.
Expected Runtime
Although the official duration has not yet been confirmed, previous Summer Game Fest showcases suggest the 2026 event will likely run for around two hours.
The gaming reveals will not stop there, however, as Day of the Devs: SGF Edition is scheduled to begin immediately after the main showcase, focusing heavily on indie titles and smaller creative projects.
What Games Could Appear?

Geoff Keighley has already teased a lineup featuring:
- World premieres
- New trailers
- Release date announcements
- Updates from major publishers
However, no official game list has been revealed so far.
Because Summer Game Fest sits directly between the recent PlayStation State of Play and the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase, large first-party reveals from Sony and Microsoft may be less prominent during the event itself.
That said, several major third-party projects are already heavily rumored to appear.
Resident Evil Rumors Continue
Following the reveal of Resident Evil Requiem during last year’s Summer Game Fest, many fans expect Capcom to return with either:
- A story expansion revealor
- The long-rumored Resident Evil Code Veronica remake
If those projects skip PlayStation’s showcase, Summer Game Fest could become the most likely stage for their announcement.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 Could Appear
Another major possibility is the first reveal of Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3.
The timing lines up particularly well:
- Final Fantasy VII Rebirth previously debuted gameplay during Summer Game Fest 2023
- The Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S ports launch shortly before this year’s showcase
Square Enix could use that momentum to officially tease the trilogy’s final chapter.
Other Games Expected to Appear
Several upcoming 2026 titles may also receive release dates or new gameplay reveals during the event, including:
- Control Resonant
- Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis
- Onimusha: Way of the Sword
Additional surprise announcements are almost guaranteed, as Summer Game Fest traditionally mixes major AAA reveals with unexpected indie projects and completely new IPs.
The Biggest Gaming Event of the Summer
Summer Game Fest has now firmly established itself as gaming’s biggest summer showcase following E3’s exit from the industry.
With publishers increasingly relying on digital presentations instead of traditional expos, the 2026 event is expected to once again become a central hub for major reveals, release announcements, and the future of gaming heading into the second half of the year.
