Epic Games has updated the schedule for the Fortnite Global Championship 2026, confirming that the event will now take place earlier than originally expected. The championship is set for September 26–27 in Antwerp, Belgium, aligning the tournament with the new Battle Royale season arriving at the end of summer.

The update also brings major changes to the FNCS calendar, Ranked systems, competitive rewards, and tournament structure for the rest of 2026.

FNCS Schedule Gets Major Adjustments

The competitive calendar has been reshuffled ahead of the Global Championship.

FNCS Major 2

FNCS Major 2 has been moved up to July 18, with Finals scheduled for August 1–2. The top 25 duos from the event will qualify directly for the Global Championship.

FNCS Last Chance Tournament

What was previously FNCS Major 3 has now been reworked into the FNCS Global Championship Last Chance tournament.

This online event begins on August 3 and will decide the final 10 duos heading to Antwerp.

New Solo FNCS Event

After the Global Championship, Epic will also launch a standalone FNCS Solos tournament in October 2026, giving players a chance to compete online for regional Battle Royale crowns.

Power Rankings Launch in June

Starting June 5, Fortnite will introduce a new global Power Rankings leaderboard.

This weekly updated web leaderboard will rank players based on:

• Their 20 best Battle Royale and Reload tournament results
• Seasonal Ranked tier in both modes
• Recent tournament performance
• Overall event difficulty

Players will be able to track their position, share rankings with friends, and follow top competitors globally.

New Ranked Reward: Axe of Unreal

Epic is also introducing a new progressive Ranked reward called the Axe of Unreal.

Beginning next season, players who reach Unreal rank for the first time will unlock the Axe of Unreal. Reaching Unreal again in future seasons will unlock higher tiers of the cosmetic.

Battle Royale and Reload will each feature separate Axe rewards.

New Ranked Tier: Unreal Legends

Season 3 will introduce a brand-new elite Ranked tier called Unreal Legends.

To earn Unreal Legend status, players must complete all three requirements during a Ranked season:

• Reach Unreal rank
• Hold at least 2,500 Skill Rating
• Place in the Top 500 on the Unreal Leaderboard

Players who fall below any requirement will lose Unreal Legend status.

Ranked Progression Improvements

Several Ranked quality-of-life changes are also coming.

Starting this season:

• Skill Rating will carry over after rank resets
• Players will be matched more consistently with similarly skilled opponents
• Post-match screens will show clearer Ranked progress details
• Eliminations and placements will display their impact more transparently

Later this year, Epic will also update tournament eligibility rules to factor in both a player’s current rank and previous season rank, using whichever is higher.

Epic also outlined several competitive events coming in Chapter 7 Season 3.

The Reload Elite Series Qualifier 4 will serve as the final path toward the Reload Elite Championship, set to take place this August at the Esports World Cup in Paris.

With the Global Championship moving to September, a new Last Chance format, Power Rankings, Unreal Legends, and multiple tournament additions, Fortnite’s 2026 competitive calendar is getting one of its biggest updates of the year.

The road to Antwerp is now officially underway, with FNCS Major 2 becoming the next major step for teams chasing a spot at the Global Championship.
