Blizzard has unveiled the 2026 Hearthstone Esports roadmap, expanding the competitive calendar with a third Masters Tour Championship, a new qualification format, and a $500,000 World Championship at BlizzCon. The season introduces larger prize pools and additional opportunities for players to qualify.

The 2026 season will be divided into three competitive splits: Winter (January–February), Spring (March–April), and Summer (May–June). Each season will feature regional Playoffs followed by a Masters Tour Championship, increasing the total number of Masters Tour events from two in 2025 to three in 2026.

Blizzard is also introducing Playoffs Blitz Weekend, a new qualification format held near the end of each competitive season. Instead of long Swiss-format tournaments, players can compete in multiple shorter single-elimination events, with each winner earning a place in the regional Playoffs.

The Playoffs themselves have been expanded with more qualification opportunities through additional Open Qualifiers and the new Blitz Weekends. All three seasonal Playoffs will also receive official broadcasts throughout the year.

Qualification for the Masters Tour Championships has been updated to place greater emphasis on Playoff performance. Each region—APAC, EMEA, and the Americas—will now send four Playoff players to each Masters Tour Championship, up from two in 2025. Additional spots will go to each region's top Competitive Points leader, plus the highest global points earner.

Each Masters Tour Championship will feature a $50,000 prize pool, with the top three finishers advancing to the Hearthstone World Championship. As a result, every event will include a third-place match to determine the final qualifying position.

The 2026 Hearthstone World Championship will take place live at BlizzCon in Anaheim, with the finals scheduled for September 13. The tournament will feature 16 players competing for a $500,000 prize pool. The lineup will include nine Masters Tour qualifiers, four players from China's competitive circuit, and three players who earn the most Competitive Points across the season.

The first competitive season begins in January 2026, marking the start of the qualification race for BlizzCon and Blizzard's largest Hearthstone Esports season to date.
