UGREEN Debuts Nexode Desktop Charger 500W at CES 2025

At CES 2025, UGREEN unveiled its latest innovation, the Nexode Desktop Charger 500W, a high-performance charging solution highlighted by The Verge.

This powerful charger delivers a maximum output of 500W, with compact dimensions of 14.61 × 6.07 × 11.46 cm and a weight of 1.8 kg. It comes equipped with five USB-C ports and one USB-A port. The primary USB-C port (C1) supports fast charging with the PD 3.1 protocol, offering up to 240W of power. The remaining USB-C ports deliver up to 100W each, while the USB-A port provides up to 22.5W.

The Nexode allows simultaneous charging for up to three devices without reducing performance. When more than three devices are connected, power is distributed among the ports. However, the C1 port consistently maintains a 240W output, regardless of the number of devices in use. According to UGREEN, the charger can fast-charge up to five laptops at once, supplying at least 65W per port.

Compatible with a wide range of devices, including smartphones, laptops, tablets, headphones, and more, the Nexode also supports high-power gadgets like the Nintendo Switch and even electric bikes.

Pricing for the Nexode Desktop Charger 500W has not yet been announced. The device is expected to launch in spring 2025.

Sony Teases Exciting Announcements Ahead of CES 2025

Sony has unveiled a teaser video hinting at major announcements during the company's highly anticipated CES 2025 press conference. Scheduled to air next week, the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) will showcase cutting-edge technologies and products from industry leaders, with Sony ready to make a splash.

Sony's Legacy at CES

Renowned as one of the world's tech giants, Sony has consistently made waves at CES. Over the years, its press conferences have introduced groundbreaking consumer electronics such as televisions, cameras, and smartphones, alongside innovative tools for filmmaking and video production. Occasionally, the company surprises audiences with unexpected showcases—like when Sony demonstrated driving a car with a PS5 controller at CES 2024. The upcoming 2025 event promises to continue this tradition of creativity and innovation.

A Glimpse Into Sony's CES 2025 Plans

A new promotional video, posted on Sony's official Twitter account, offers a glimpse of what to expect. The tweet proclaims that Sony is "bringing the future to CES 2025," while the 15-second video teases announcements spanning various divisions.

The video opens with visuals inspired by Guerrilla Games' Horizon franchise, featuring lush green landscapes, Tallnecks, and a Thunderjaw. While this segment likely represents Sony's PlayStation division, it doesn’t necessarily suggest a new Horizon game reveal. However, given that Horizon Call of the Mountain for PS VR2 debuted at CES 2022, fans can't entirely rule out the possibility.

The next sequence features a Ghostbusters-themed environment, hinting at potential news from Sony’s movies and TV division. Following that, a concert setting likely represents announcements from Sony Music. The video wraps up with the tagline "Create Infinite Realities," signaling ambitious plans for the conference.

When and Where to Watch

Sony's CES 2025 press conference is set to go live on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 5 PM PSTThe broadcast will be here, buddy =)

PlayStation's Role at CES

While CES hasn’t traditionally been a major venue for PlayStation news, recent years have seen this trend shift. Sony first acknowledged the PS5 at CES 2020 with a logo reveal. Subsequent events featured announcements such as the PS VR2 headset, Horizon Call of the Mountain, and the PS5 Access controller.

With this evolving focus, it's worth watching to see if CES 2025 includes any noteworthy PlayStation updates. Whether it’s gaming, music, film, or cutting-edge technology, Sony seems poised to deliver a diverse array of announcements that underline its position as a leader in the tech industry.
