Netflix Takes Over Warner Bros. Including Some Big Gaming Studios
Netflix have officially acquired Warner Bros. studio after plenty of speculations regarding the future fate of WB. The deal has been complete for almost $83 billion and that could have some huge consequences for the cinema industry.
But it’s not only matter for cinema but video games too. Warner Bros. owned Warner Bros. Games that now belong to Netflix; that means studios like NetherRealm Studios, Rocksteady Studios, Avalanche Software, TT Games and WB Games Montreal are now owned by Netflix. Streaming service have confirmed the deal on X social media:
These studios all well-known by such big game franchises, like Mortal Kombat, Injustice, Batman: Arkham series, Mad Max, LEGO video games, Mad Max etc. For now, the future of these video game remains uncertain as we don’t know how Netflix are going to use these franchises. It’s also important to say that acquisition is starting to be active since 2026.
