Discover the Next Frontier: PUBG Unveils Rondo, an Expansive Marvel of Tradition and Modernity
Krafton is set to unveil a significant addition to PUBG: Battlegrounds with the introduction of Rondo, a major map slated for release on both PC and consoles in December. Promising a captivating blend of "traditional aesthetics and modern visuals," Rondo spans an expansive 8x8 area, offering diverse landscapes from serene forests and mountain temples to a bustling modern cityscape. This map stands as the largest playable region in the game's current iteration. Scheduled for release alongside Update 27.1 on December 6 for PC and December 14 for consoles, Rondo brings new elements and challenges to the PUBG experience.
"Rondo seamlessly integrates traditional charm with contemporary visuals across its varied regions. From lakes and bamboo groves in the southwest to diverse ridges in the northeast, the map presents players with different atmospheres. Traditional beauty emanates from Yu Lin, surrounded by lakes and forests, while Tin Long Garden harmonizes grandeur with nature in a traditional residential setting. Mey Ran offers aquatic battles amidst buildings and rivers. The map also features the modern cityscape of Jadena City, characterized by towering skyscrapers and vibrant neon signs, setting the stage for intense urban warfare. NEOX Factory introduces unique combat scenarios, including a vehicle test track and factory zone featuring the NEOX vehicle Blanc. Players can explore visually diverse areas like Rin Jiang, Jao Tin, and the Stadium.
"Rondo introduces distinctive elements exclusive to this PUBG: Battlegrounds map. Strategically placed destructible bamboo adds a tactical layer to gameplay, allowing players to use throwables or vehicles to destroy them. City-specific transportation options, such as the Mid-Level Escalator in Jadena City, enable swift movement between buildings. Additionally, the map introduces a new weapon designed exclusively for this terrain – the JS9, a 9mm submachine gun (SMG) with relatively low recoil and the option to switch to automatic firing mode, making it a preferred choice within the map."
