Vehicle overhaul, Vikendi and Erangel map changes - PUBG patch 21.1 changelog

PUBG Studios has released the PUBG Patch 21.1 Changelog. The developers paid attention to and redesigned vehicles, made changes to the Vikendi and Erangel maps, and also launched a new ranked season. While the update is already available in the game's test client, the patch will be available on December 6 (PC) and December 15 (console).

Vikendi map changes

The developers have significantly increased the amount of snow presented on the map - now the location consists of different climatic zones: glaciers, snow fields and vegetation. From now on, Vikendi is available as a featured map, while its size has been increased to 8x8 km. The map is presented in two types of weather conditions: cloudy and clear.

New mechanics

Added "Funicular" mechanic (only available on the Vikendi map):

• Each station has two directions, only one booth works in automatic mode in one direction
• Upon arriving at the station, the car will stop for a short time before continuing.
• The cabin can be accessed by transport

Among other things, PUBG will include auxiliary items, jumars and towers for climbing; gas stations; the possibility of using scrap.

New zones

Also on the Vikendi map appeared "Camps" - zones with many valuable items. Hiking camps, which vary in structure and size, are scattered around the frozen lake to the northwest.

Camps will now spawn "Supply Delivery" crates, a new type of crate that will contain certain items. However, some camps have set up an alarm that goes off as soon as items are taken from the supply drop.

snowmobile

The snowmobile is officially back in the game. Its characteristics:

• Accommodates up to 2 players
• Maximum speed: 120 km/h
• Movement speed will no longer decrease on flat surfaces/concrete/roads/bare ground
• You can fire pistols from the driver's seat

Erangel Map Changes

Also, the developers paid attention to processing on the Erangel map. List of major changes and improvements:

• The ferry can now be accessed by vehicles: Some objects on the ferry and pier have been removed; Some bridges have been widened; Ramps have been added to places where the height of the ferry did not match the height of the pier
• Ferry routes are now displayed on the minimap
• Added a new building below the hospital
• Changed location of fences
• Added new fences
• Added street lights and benches

Refinement of transport balance

A future update will also make adjustments to the balance of some modes of transport.

"Winter":

• Health: 900 → 1,200
• Added trunk with a capacity of 250
• Improved handling
• Reduced vulnerability to damage taken

Porter:

• Health: 1,200 → 1,500
• Increased overall speed (maximum speed remained unchanged)
• Improved handling

Pony Coupe:

• Reduced overall speed and low rpm torque (top speed unchanged)

Minibus:

• Health: 2,000 → 2,500
• Maximum speed (normal) increased to 87km/h (maximum speed with acceleration remained unchanged)
• Improved handling
• Increased tire strength

UAZ:

• Increased low rpm torque (top speed unchanged)

"Mirado":

• Increased low rpm torque (top speed unchanged)
• Improved handling

New Ranked Season

The leaderboards will be reset after the maintenance of the main server. You can find out the final rank in the previous season on the statistics page.
