PUBG is preparing an update with changes to animations, reloads and melee attacks
The developers of PUBG talked about the upcoming update in the game, which will affect the running animation, reloading and melee attack. The changes will affect both first and third person modes.
Today we bring you an animation update coming soon to PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS. We want to infuse the existing animations with that sense of desperate struggle for survival that PUBG is known for. So that the tension felt by the player in each match is also reflected in his avatar.
We understand that veteran players who are already used to the current character movements and animations fear that they will have to relearn. However, no timings have been changed during the animation update, and weapon handling will not differ from the previous version in any way. It's like your trusty Dacia has been repainted, varnished and polished. Looks new, but handles exactly the way you're used to.
We emphasize that we minimize the impact on the gameplay. PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS' unique shooting mechanics will remain the same, while animations will be tweaked to add more precision, tension, and weight to the events in the game.
Update movement in first person view
Weapon animation:
- Previously, almost all actions related to handling weapons or reloading took place off-screen. But reloading should allow players to see the weapon for which they have chosen a skin and fine-tuned the appearance. So now the weapon will be more strongly displayed on the screen. In addition, the animation of the player's movements will be changed: it will become more aggressive and more weighty in feel.
Movement while running:
- As we mentioned above, most of the character's actions with a weapon took place off-screen, including while running with a weapon. Now the position of the weapon has become higher, which means it will be better seen when running. In addition, the movement of the weapons and the camera are more intense, which in our opinion brings a better feeling.
Motion update in 3rd person view
Running and walking, start and stop:
- Previous player animations were generally stable, but lacked credibility in weight transfer and speed. Simply put, we had something to work on in terms of realism. Therefore, we want to add weight to the actions of the character and make it feel when changing speed.
Melee attacks:
- Prior to this update, melee attacks simply caused the screen to shake, and the intervals between attacks were even. We tried to make everything feel more natural and fluid, and we think this will make melee attacks visually more powerful.
The developers have not announced a release date for the update. At the same time, they promised that the changes would not affect key game mechanics.
