Patch 12.21 Preview: New Champion K`Sante, Balance Rework and More

The Worlds 2022 finals marked not only the culmination of the competitive season of the League of Legends between professional clubs, but also the start of the Off-Season 2023. Along with it, patch 12.21 was released in the game client, bringing a new champion K`Sante, changes to the old inhabitants of the Summoners' Rift, and more. Briefly, about the main thing.

K'Sante's abilities

Ntofo Strikes [Q] – K'Sante attacks enemies with his national weapon, dealing Physical damage and slowing enemies. Hitting a target again releases a shockwave forward of the champion that pulls targets in.

Rush [W] – K'Sante creates a shield with his weapon, becoming Unstoppable and blocking some of the incoming damage. Pressing[W]again allows you to dash, stunning and dealing true damage to enemies based on the enemy's maximum health

Prowess [E] – K'Sante rushes forward, gaining a shield. Can be cast on an ally from a greater distance, granting the teammate a shield.

Unleash [R] - K'Sante shatters his weapon, losing some of his health and resistance to physical and magical damage. Deals physical damage to enemies, knocking it back. Enemies thrown into the wall take more damage. At the end of the skill, K'Sante dashes towards the affected enemy.

Balance Changes

Ahri

Decreased cost of [Q] Orb of Deception, increased ability damage.

  • Mana cost: 60/70/80/90/100 – 55/65/75/85/95
  • Damage Per Hit: 40/65/90/115/140 (+40% AP) – 40/65/90/115/140 (+45% AP)

Ahri received a buff after a fix in patch 12.17. The character began to fall out of the meta, and therefore Riot decided to improve the parameters for her nuke.

Bel'veth

The [E] Empress' Rage cooldown has been increased. The health of the Void Remor has been reduced.

Unquenchable Hunger [R]

The character received weaknesses due to the frequent snowball effect that occurred in the case of the “acceleration” of the heroine. Increased cooldown on Fury of the Empress [E].

Another major nerf came to one of the most popular characters for the ADK role. The changes will definitely weaken Fortuna as a lane killer (especially in the early stages) and open up some room for maneuver with builds and roles.

Ornn

A nice bonus for a blacksmith god doesn't actually change anything. The Ornn skill already slowed down enemies by 60%, regardless of the level of pumping, and therefore nothing supernatural will happen with this edit.

Xin Zhao

The bonus damage dealt on the third hit of Resolve (passive skill) from attack power has been increased, the healing factor from ability power has been increased. The cooldown of [E]Daring Charge has been reduced.

  • Bonus damage on third hit: 15/25/35/45% of attack damage - 15/30/45/60% of attack damage
  • Healing: 6-74 (based on level) (+10% of attack power) (+55% of ability power)/ 6-74 (based on level) (+10% of attack power) (+65% of ability power)

bold dash[E]

  • Cooldown: 12 seconds/11 seconds

A rebalancing of the once popular jungler is intended to make him stronger in the later stages of the game. This is especially noticeable in terms of the champion's passive.

Other

Among other things, the system of re-creating matches has been redesigned in the game. Now a team that lacks one or more teammates can make a remake starting from the 1st minute.

The time limit for recreating the game is 03:00. It is also available in other modes, like ARAM.

With the release of patch 12.21, new tasks will become available for leveling the Battle Pass rewards ribbon. Also in the game will be a new line of skins - Empyrean.
