River Plate signs Xypherz, Horus and Keishao
We continue the series of news about Argentinean clubs that are making changes to their League of Legends rosters. This time the representatives of River Plate Gaming pleased with the changes. Forester Santiago 'Xypherz' de Leon, AD Carry Facundo 'Horus' Utrero and support Franco 'Keishao' Cotrone are new faces in the ranks of RIver Plate Gaming. Joel "Joelito" Basso, in turn, becomes a substitute midlaner, and team coach Alejandro "Wingate" Reguera renews his contract with the organization.
The management wanted to bring something new to the team after River Plate's performance at Liga Master Opening 2022. The team showed not the best performance there and placed 5-8 in the standings, receiving only $793 in prize money.
The roster managed to make its debut in the framework of the just-begun Liga Master Closing 2022. In the Bo1 match against Malvinas Gaming, the team won and increased its chances of qualifying for the playoffs for the South American teams.
Liga Master Closing 2022 started on May 18th. The end date for the league has yet to be announced. An online league for teams from South America will allow teams to compete for a total prize pool of $18,770. It will be divided globally into a group stage and playoffs. The team that takes first place in the group stage will earn ~$1,540, while the tournament champion will earn ~$4,230.
