KotFT: State of Paladin

In the past, we’ve seen a couple variations of Paladin decks either rise to the top or fall to the bottom: Midrange/aggro (usually Murlocs) and Control. While it has, admittedly, been a while since we saw a particularly viable Control Paladin out there, the deck that has been floating around the most is an interesting combination of the two. While it is mostly midrange, it now carries many of the cards originally thought to be only viable in control, such as Bolvar, Fireblood and Sunkeeper Tarim. The early game starts off with a flood of Murlocs to gain an early advantage in both board control and health total, before transitioning into a more control oriented mid to late game that can still pack a punch. Vilefin Inquisitor allows the Murloc archetype to continue through the whole game, instead of fading out by turn 5 or so. This means that drawing your Gentle Megasaur in the late game can still make an impact.

The most viable version of this deck can be found on Tempo Storm’s Meta Snapshot here.

Give the deck a try, even if you don’t have all the Legendary cards required for it. There are some easy substitutions that can add to either the early game push or the late game control. Experiment around with it, and let us know what you think!
