The gaming future is almost here - monitors with a matrix with a frequency of 480 Hz should appear in 2023
PCGamesN revealed that LG and AU Optronics are planning a new matrix for monitors. It will support a 480Hz refresh rate and will be released around the end of 2022 or 2023. This is not the first matrix to be created with this frequency. Zisworks was able to achieve this result back in 2017, but the supported image resolution was very low, namely 540p.
At the moment, the limit of gaming monitors is 390 Hz, while 360 Hz is a fairly common phenomenon among fans of playing computer games.
LG is currently working on another feature of monitors that should appeal to gamers. We are talking about IPS Black, a technology that aims to make blacks the deepest possible, which will improve image quality and contribute to the proliferation of OLED monitors among gamers. Now they can not compete with conventional LCD monitors due to their price, but LG is working to overcome this problem. The price is especially high for monitors, which are characterized by high scan rates.
