Atari management decided to rethink the approach to creating and releasing games. At the board of directors, an agreement was signed on a new approach to game production.
According to the document, Atari now intends to create premium games for PCs and consoles. Previously, the emphasis was on shareware projects and mobile games.
The first fruits of the revamped game release model are set to arrive this fiscal year. Until March 31, 2022, new titles are expected to be released, which will help strengthen the position of the Atari VCS console.
The move to creating large premium games is driven by competition in the shareware and mobile game segments. However, Atari does not plan to completely abandon these markets.
