Big deals in 2021 are ongoing. The Embracer Group (owners of THQ Nordic and Deep Silver) have completed the takeover of Gearbox Studios, which gave us Brother in Arms and Borderlands.
The Swedish conglomerate announced this on its website. The deal began in February, but it was finally closed only now.
Gearbox is very happy about this outcome. The head of the studio, Randy Pitchford, has already confirmed the development of a new IP, and also expressed a desire to support existing projects.
The deal is estimated at $ 1.3 billion. In addition to Gearbox, Aspyr Media and Easybrain joined the Embracer Group family.
