Possible characteristics of a line of gaming graphics cards from Intel called Xe-HPG appeared on the network.

This is neither the first nor the last time that information has surfaced about the DG2, Intel's first modern gaming GPU series, which is expected to debut later this year. This is an important development in the graphics card industry because the choice will no longer be limited to two brands.

The lineup will include six models. The flagship will be equipped with a graphics processor with 4 thousand computing cores and 16 or 8 GB of GDDR6 memory, connected via a 256-bit bus. Intel will also offer options with 12, 8 or 4 GB of memory and buses from 64 to 192 bits. Other specs, including GPU frequencies, were not disclosed. However, current data hints that the top-end Xe-HPG will compete with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 and AMD Radeon RX 6800XT.

This means the Intel DG2 series will now have three GPUs. This is the main difference from the DG1, which debuted in only one form, later adapted for mobile and desktop form factors. DG2, on the other hand, will be a family of products with the same architecture.

Intel Xe-HPG was announced in the summer of 2020, and it should be on sale by the end of 2021. Company representatives noted that GPUs will be manufactured by third-party factories. According to rumors, the Taiwanese company TSMC will be engaged in production.
