Gran Turismo 7 release officially postponed
Gran Turismo 7 will be released in 2022 due to development difficulties associated with the coronavirus pandemic. This was announced by the head of Sony Interactive Entertainment Jim Ryan in an interview with GQ magazine.
Gran Turismo 7 was originally slated for release in the first half of 2021. However, the worldwide pandemic severely interfered with the work of the studio, due to which most of the projects were frozen/postponed. Note that the exact release date of the car simulator is unknown.
Jason Schreier, editor of Bloomberg news agency and renowned investigative journalist, hinted after the news of the transfer of Gran Turismo 7 that another Sony game - the sequel to God of War - will not be released in 2021. Sony itself has not confirmed this information.
The previous installment of the Gran Turismo series, subtitled Sport, was released in 2017 exclusively on PS4. The head of Sony Interactive Entertainment also announced that another PlayStation 4 exclusive, Days Gone, will be coming to PC. The release of the game on the new platform is scheduled for the spring of 2021.
Note that Sony announced Gran Turismo 7 in June 2020. The game was supposed to be released in the first half of 2021 on PS5.
