Square Enix decided to share the updated edition of NieR: Automata, which, apparently, 4 years after its release, remains in demand. Total sales of the game have exceeded 5.5 million copies.
It is noteworthy that 500 thousand were sold in just 2 months. In December 2020, Square Enix reported 5 million copies sold.
The NieR series seems to be quite successful. Recently, mobile NieR Re[in]carnation was named the leader in sales of the App Store, and the upcoming remaster with the subtitle Replicant is also predicted a great future.
The original NieR: Automata was released on February 23, 2017. Originally released in Japan, the game debuted in the West a few weeks later for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
