What to expect from Japanese developers in 2021?
Famitsu, a well-known Japanese edition, conducted an extensive interview with Japanese game development studios. I managed to communicate with Konami, Square Enix, Bandai Namco, Koei Tecmo, Atlus and many others.
Plans of Japanese developers for 2021
- Acquire
New Game Announced in Fresh Famitsu January 7th
- Atlus
The studio continues to work on the Shin Megami Tensei V, but the finish line is still a long way off. The Persona series will receive 25th anniversary celebrations.
- Koei Tecmo
Will share several announcements until spring 2021. Also next year, many different releases are planned, a celebration of the anniversary of Fatal Frame and the start of development of projects from Team Ninja
- Konami
Several Bomberman series announcements are planned, as well as a game announcement from Kenichiro Takaki.
- Square enix
Final Fantasy VII is in preparation. In addition to work on NieR and Babylon's Fall, completely new IPs are being developed. A major celebration of the 35th anniversary of Dragon Quest is planned, as well as announcements for Final Fantasy XIV and Final Fantasy XVI.

Seiji Aoka is developing a new project from the beginning of 2020. More details are promised next year
- Bandai namco
A large-scale celebration of the 25th anniversary of Ace Combat will take place. We are also working on a new project.

Development of Bayonetta 3 is in full swing and according to plan. Also, the development of Project GG has moved off the ground.

Probably, they are preparing some kind of shooter with RPG elements, and also promise an ambitious sequel to the existing game.
