Meet the Steam Playtest
Valve has been steadily improving their Steam playground. This time, the company introduced the Playtest function, which allows you to directly join the testing of games.
Playtest will allow you to refuse annoying mailings and constant key entries for early tests of games that have not yet been released. Now you can apply for testing the game right on its page in the store, and the developers themselves will regulate the process. They will be able to independently determine the number of players required for testing, change this parameter and set the dates for testing completion.
The Playtest function is still in beta test, and therefore it is too early to refuse demos and keys. Also Playtest will not replace Early Access, but rather complement it by adding the ability to activate testing before or during Early Access.
