Universal Studios Is Rumored to Announce Multiple Games on TGA 2026
According to a new rumor, Universal Studios is establishing its own gaming division to compete with Paramount Games Studio and Lucasfilm Games. Furthermore, a list of potential projects has surfaced, and some of them may be officially unveiled this year.
The rumor spread on 4chan, where it was reported that Universal Games Studios will make its disclosure at The Game Awards in December. The same event is also reportedly going to feature the announcement of several games from the studio, some of which sound extremely intriguing. The following projects are reportedly being developed:
- The Purge is a “battle royale” game that is also a live-service title and features survival elements. The setting is an urban environment, and one of its key features is the ability to take weapons from enemies and use them to your advantage.
- A spin-off in the Larry-Boy universe, dedicated to Vogue. A superhero project reminiscent in style of Batman: Arkham and Insomniac’s Marvel’s Spider-Man.
- An open-world action-RPG based on How to Train Your Dragon. In the game, players will be able to ride dragons and use various weapons, and the protagonist will be a brand new character.
- A game about the Incredible Hulk is also being developed in collaboration with Marvel.
Additional information suggests that Saber's Jurassic Park: Survival—which is being developed in collaboration with Universal—may have its trailer shown at The Game Awards, and that The Purge and a game based on How to Train Your Dragon will be officially announced at the show. However, at this point, this is nothing more than a rumor.
The Game Awards 2026 will take place on December 10. You can also check out which games may win the main categories at the show.
