The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Remastered Breaks Steam's Record for the Number of Players Online

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered, an enhanced version of the 2015 game, has already been released on all platforms. It appears the changes CD Projekt RED added to the game have been well-received by players, as Steam alone broke the record for the number of concurrent users since the original third installment was released 11 years ago.

According to SteamDB, the peak number of players in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt—Remastered has already surpassed 110,000, and that number continues to rise. By comparison, just yesterday, the standard version of the game had just over 10,000 players online, which is a significant difference. The reviews are also impressive: over 96% are positive. For CD Projekt RED, this is undoubtedly an incredible success.

The previous record of 105,000 players was set in January 2020, when The Witcher debuted on Netflix, but that record has already been broken. Just like the players, game critics are also excited about The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt—Remastered. The game currently has a score of 94 on Metacritic and ranks first on the site’s list of the year’s highest-rated games.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Remastered is available now on PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and also Nintendo Switch 2. Next year, CD Projekt RED will release a new DLC for the game, Songs of the Past, and The Witcher 4, the next chapter in the saga, is confirmed to release in 2028.
