The Division 2 Free Weekend Is Live and Registration for the New Survivors Mode Test Is Open

Ubisoft has announced two pieces of news for The Division 2 fans at once. The shooter can be tried for free on all platforms until September 28, and registration for the test of Survivors, a new survival extraction mode, has opened on the game's website.

According to the announcement, The Division 2 is free to play from September 24 to 28 on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC via Ubisoft Connect. The promotion started on September 24 at 3:00 PM and will end on September 28 at 12:00 PM local time. On Xbox, the game is part of the Free Play Days program and is available until September 27, with no Game Pass subscription required. Players get full access to the base version of the game.

The Division 2 is an open-world tactical shooter from Massive Entertainment: agents save post-apocalyptic Washington, D.C., complete story missions, explore the Dark Zones, and take part in endgame activities. You can play solo or in co-op with up to four people. All progress earned during these days will carry over if you buy the game after the promotion.

The free weekend coincides with the Echoes of Central Park Showcase, which featured the first gameplay of the upcoming DLC. For the first time in the series' history, the expansion will take players to New York's Central Park and cover the Upper West Side. The story will begin with a distress call from inside the park and rumors of a new virus strain, and the overall atmosphere will be darker and more frightening. The DLC's price and release date have not been announced yet.

The developers have also opened sign-ups for the test of the new Survivors mode. Survivors is an upcoming extraction mode that builds on the ideas of Survival from the first game. Players find themselves in a snow-covered Washington, D.C., where they must survive and extract while facing harsh weather, AI enemies, and, optionally, other players. The mode will have both PvPvE and PvE options. The developers promise dynamic weather and time of day, randomized loot, and routes and extraction points that change from run to run. Players will be able to choose the length and difficulty of their sessions themselves, from short runs to long and grueling ones.

To get into the test, you need to:

• play on PC;
• be ready for an unfinished build with bugs;
• be fluent in English, since all information and feedback will be in English;
• share feedback with the developers.

You don't need to own The Division 2 to participate. Registration does not guarantee access: Ubisoft will notify selected players by email. The test date has not been announced yet, and you can submit your application on the official website.
