Clash Royale Reveals Season 86 Balance Changes Ahead of August Update

Supercell has published the first details of the Clash Royale Season 86 balance update, outlining a large number of buffs, nerfs, and reworks scheduled to arrive with the new season on August 3, 2026. The changes affect Heroes, Champions, Evolutions, Spirits, and multiple core cards across the game's meta.

One of the biggest planned adjustments targets Heroes and Champions. Supercell intends to remove ability cooldowns, making each Hero ability usable only once per match. The change will apply to all Heroes and Champions except Boss Bandit.

The update also introduces several major card reworks. Void will see its Elixir cost increase from 3 to 5, while receiving significantly higher damage. Battle Healer gains increased attack damage but loses her ability to heal herself with attacks. Goblin Machine, Rune Giant, Hero Ice Golem, Witch Evolution, Hero Mega Minion, Mortar, and Barbarians are also receiving gameplay adjustments.

Supercell is still evaluating changes to Fire, Ice, Electro, and Heal Spirits. The developer has asked the community to vote between reducing the Spirits' health or lowering their movement speed, meaning these values are not yet finalized.

The update also brings extensive nerfs to several popular cards. Hero Goblins will spawn fewer Goblins after defeat, while Mega Knight Evolution, Valkyrie Evolution, Archers Evolution, Goblin Barrel Evolution, Goblin Cage Evolution, Wall Breakers, Bowler, and Executioner are all being toned down to reduce their impact in the current meta.

On the other hand, a number of underused cards are receiving buffs. Princess Evolution, Minion Horde Evolution, Little Prince, Mighty Miner, Goblins, Spear Goblins, Goblinstein, Hero Tombstone, Suspicious Bush, and X-Bow will all become stronger when the update goes live.
