Leaker Revealed Far Cry 7 Map Images and Confirmed the Game Is Facing a Challenging Development Process

It is believed that Ubisoft has been working on the seventh installment of Far Cry for quite some time, with rumors about the game emerging as early as last year. Reports suggest that the game's setting will be moved to Alaska, and there will also be a separate release in the Extraction mode genre. However, the developers have not confirmed any details about the upcoming project, even as new leaks continue to surface.

The well-known leaker Rogue, who previously shared various details about upcoming Ubisoft projects—including Assassin's Creed Codename Hexe and a new Ghost Recon title—has once again revealed leaked materials. These are believed to include a portion of the in-game world map for Far Cry 7, along with images from the game's loading screen. Interestingly, parts of the loading screen photos show some similarities to another image Rogue shared last year alongside information about Far Cry 7. In a separate post, the insider also confirmed that the game has faced development issues but noted that its official announcement could still take place this year. Ubisoft, for its part, remains silent about Far Cry for now. However, a previously released financial report confirms the company's plans to launch new games not only in the Far Cry series but also in Assassin's Creed and Ghost Recon in 2029. Considering the ongoing restructuring within the development teams, the exact release dates remain unknown for the time being.

In addition to Far Cry 7, a series based on the franchise is also currently in development. It is being produced for FX, with Noah Hawley serving as the showrunner. Hawley has confirmed that the upcoming adaptation will not be connected to any of the games in the series. Recently, it was announced that Lizzy Caplan has joined the cast of the show.
