Ubisoft Confirmed Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Will Not Release on Switch 2

The remake of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, now titled Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, is set to be released soon. The game is announced for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, but Switch 2 owners are hopeful that, like the previous installment, Assassin's Creed Shadows, it will eventually be available on their platform as well.

However, Ubisoft does not seem to have such plans for now. Yesterday, the studio revealed the release date for the latest update of Assassin's Creed Shadows - Black Tides - and confirmed on their official website that part of its content, specifically the crossover with Black Flag Resynced in the Animus Hub, will not be available in the Switch 2 version of the game, as Black Flag Resynced is also not available on Nintendo's platform. "Unfortunately, these will not be available on Nintendo Switch 2 as it contains crossover content with Black Flag Resynced, which will not be releasing for Nintendo."

Interestingly, shortly after the official announcement of the game, one insider claimed that Ubisoft would release Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced on the Switch 2, but this apparently isn't the case. However, this doesn't mean the studio has ruled out launching the game on Nintendo’s console permanently; it could still happen in the future.
