Warhorse Studios Shared First Details About Upcoming RPG Based On Middle-earth
Last week, Warhorse Studios, the developers of the Kingdom Come: Deliverance game series, announced the development of two new projects at once. In addition to another RPG set in the Kingdom Come universe, the studio is officially working on a game set in Middle-earth, which will also be an open-world role-playing game.
The developers also recently held a stream where they denied rumors that the new Kingdom Come would be a spin-off, as it will be a full-fledged RPG, which is planned to be released during the next fiscal year—that is, by March 31, 2028. Moreover, the first details of Warhorse’s Middle-earth game have been confirmed, which should appeal to all fans of Kingdom Come: Deliverance.
During the stream, the studio’s communications director Tobias Stolz-Zwilling stated that upcoming Middle-earth title will be “narrative adventure game set in an open world” and shared his excitement over the game, as you can check out below:
“We have a completely mind-blowing ready team to delve into what this universe has to offer. And this is, again, an absolute passion project.
The game will be deeply immersive, with a living world. There will be interesting characters, memorable places, and of course a strong narrative focus.”
It is assumed that the project is still at a very early stage of development, and it will be several more years before a potential release. Middle-earth game, developed by Warhorse Studios, is also led by Viktor Bocan—he was the lead designer of the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance, and now he’s the creative director at Warhorse Studios.
