SEGA Teases the Reveal of a New Crazy Taxi Video Game Soon

Perhaps few modern gamers remember Crazy Taxi game series, the last installment of which was released way back in 2003. But it looks like fans will soon get a long-awaited glimpse of a new game in the franchise from SEGA.

The official Crazy Taxi account on X social media has posted a promising 5-second teaser featuring the game’s iconic taxi logo. This could be a hint that a new Crazy Taxi game will be unveiled soon—perhaps at Summer Game Fest, which is scheduled for June 5–8—only if SEGA decides to show it earlier.

This is the account’s first post since January 15, 2019, but it’s also worth noting that SEGA confirmed a new Crazy Taxi game back in 2023, during The Game Awards; since then, reports have emerged that the new Crazy Taxi will be a large-scale AAA project, featuring an open world and even online elements.

It was also recently reported that SEGA has canceled a certain “Super Game,” which was apparently intended to be a Fortnite-style title with a budget reportedly exceeding $800 million. Nevertheless, the company plans to focus on its older franchises, one of which is Crazy Taxi. The report states that new games in the Jet Set Radio, Golden Axe, and Streets of Rage franchises may be in development.
