Gears of War: E-Day Is Rumored to Release This September

The upcoming new Gears of War game, Gears of War: E-Day, is one of many titles that are still eyed to release this year, but for some reason doesn’t have a release date yet. Previous speculation suggested it will land in the second half of 2026, and the latest report from a notable insider gives more specific information about the game’s release.

According to reliable gaming insider TheGhostOfHope, Xbox is looking to release Gears of War: E-Day in September, as he made this statement during a conversation with a user on the social media X when he was asked about the announcement of a new Call of Duty game following an alleged leak of the game’s cover art.

“I’m honestly shocked that they haven’t revealed the game yet. I feel like they gotta push up the release to September if they know what’s good for them. If they go with October they need to actually have an early beta and take in a TON of feedback and actually implement it.

At this time, neither Xbox Game Studios nor The Coalition, the developing studio, has revealed any information about Gears of War: E-Day's release date. We will receive more information about the game on June 7, during Gears of War: E-Day Direct, which will last 30 minutes and take place immediately after the Xbox Games Showcase. There is also a Netflix adaptation of the game, directed by David Leitch (Bullet Train, The Fall Guy, Atomic Blonde).

As for Gears of War: E-Day, it will be the prequel to a whole Gears of War saga. It is taking place 14 years before the original title, where we will see the first days of Emergence Day and focus on Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago.
