Clash of Clans Ranked Overhaul — New Legend Tiers & Easier Climb
Clash of Clans is set to roll out another major Ranked Mode update in April 2026, continuing its efforts to improve progression and reduce player burnout.
Legend League Reworked into Three Tiers
The biggest change comes to Legend League, which is now divided into three tiers:
- Legend I
- Legend II
- Legend III
While rewards such as stars and league bonuses remain the same across all tiers, the goal is to balance competition and matchmaking. By splitting players into different tiers, the system ensures more even matchups and a progression path that better reflects skill levels.
Each tier also features its own structure, battle limits, and modifiers, creating a more varied competitive experience.
Migration Week Determines Your Starting Rank
To transition into the new system, a one-time placement phase called Migration Week begins on April 20, 2026.
Player placement will depend on current ranking:
- Top 12,500 players → Legend I
- Next 50,000 players → Legend II
- All others → Legend III
Performance during this period will play a key role, as higher placement can significantly reduce the need to grind through lower tiers later.

Improved Ranked Experience
Beyond Legend League, the overall Ranked system is becoming more player-friendly:
- Fewer required battles in higher leagues
- More forgiving inactivity system
Players can now remain inactive for up to four weeks without being demoted. After that, rank decreases occur gradually—only once every four weeks—making the system far less punishing than before.
Clearer Progression and Demotion Tracking
Another important improvement is better transparency. Instead of unclear warnings, players will now see:
- A visible timer for potential demotions
- Clear indicators of current rank and risk level
This removes confusion and helps players better manage their progression.
Final Overview
The April 2026 update aims to make Ranked Mode more balanced, accessible, and transparent, offering a smoother experience for both competitive and casual players.
