Rockstar Games Named Among UK Employers That Underpaid Workers

His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has released a list of 389 UK employers found to have underpaid their staff — and Rockstar Games is among them.

According to the official report, the company failed to meet the legal minimum wage requirements for a small group of employees. In total, Rockstar owed £1,396.76 to five workers, averaging roughly £279 per person. HMRC has since required the studio to repay the full amount.

While the sum is relatively minor for Rockstar — a company whose titles generate billions in revenue for parent company Take-Two Interactive — it is far more significant for the affected employees.

The listing specifically names Rockstar Games UK Limited, which oversees the company’s UK operations. However, based on the registered address, the issue is believed to be linked to Rockstar North, the studio currently working on GTA VI.
