Starfield Will Continue to Receive More Updates in the Future
After plenty of rumors and speculations, Bethesda officially announces the PS5 version of Starfield this week. Moreover, the sci-fi action RPG is also confirmed to receive the biggest update yet, Free Lanes, which brings a lot of new features to the game and a new story DLC called Terran Armana, which is definitely good news for all the fans.
The new update will be available for free across all the platforms, including PlayStation 5, next month, on April 7. In order to promote Starfield’s new update DLC and to tell more about the game’s future, lead creative producer of the game Tim Lamb and art director Istvan Pely have recently spoken with GamesRadar, where he revealed Bethesda is not finishing with Starfield and the game will continue to receive more updates in the future, as you can check out the highlights from Lamb's interview below:
“I think there's a future for it. We have plans. I won't go into specifics, but when we launch a game, our plan is always long-term support. To what level that happens, or the significance of that, how it manifests, is open to interpretation. But there's more to come for Starfield. I think there's things that still excite the team – there are still lore and places that we're excited to explore; those would be the things we'll be chasing after.”
At the same time, Starfield’s art director, Istvan Pely, has also revealed that the developers “have talked about so many different versions of DLCs that they want to do” and adds, “the list is crazy.”
“We intend to keep doing updates after. Whether or not they're small or massive or somewhere inbetween… we definitely plan to keep going. It's not like this is the end of Starfield.”
The recent announcement of Starfield for PlayStation 5 and the confirmation of the Free Lanes update and Terran Armada DLC might actually be a turning point for Bethesda Game Studios and the game itself. Since its release back in 2023, many players have been disappointed with Starfield, as the game didn’t meet their expectations. Hopefully, Bethesda is doing the right things to fix the title, and soon we will see the best version of Starfield.
