Marvel’s Wolverine Will Not Feature Open-World

Marvel’s Wolverine is the latest installment from Insomniac Games, the developers of the Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise. The projects are confirmed to exist in the same universe, and the game about the world’s famous X-Men is set to release this September exclusively on PlayStation 5.

Besides Marvel’s Wolverine being much bloodier and more brutal than Marvel’s Spider-Man games, it will not include another important feature—open world. According to Legion Looterana, Marvel’s Wolverine will not have a fully open world; however, the game will include areas available for exploring that will also have a unique structure and enemies, as you can check below:

“Marvel’s Wolverine will NOT be a massive open world in the style of Marvel's Spider-Man 2.

Insomniac Games opts for a semi-open structure: more contained areas, but extremely dense and detailed.

  • Locations with their own distinct character;
  • Unique enemies in each region;
  • Much more tactical and visceral exploration;”

This is the first superhero video game from Insomniac Games without an open world, and it will be curious to see how they will handle this. At the same time, it seems like Marvel’s Wolverine doesn’t really need the open world to be a better video game. Anyway, we will find out soon, when the game releases on September 15 for PlayStation 5.
